Puerh Tea

The history of Pu-ehr tea in China’s Yunnan Province began around 1700 years ago. That was a time when tea was traded via the Tea Horse Road from Yunnan via Tibet to India. Teas were compressed into cakes because it was easier to transport them in that form. The journey often took months, and loose green tea leaves sensitive to temperature and humidity changed and fermented over the long journey. This resulted in a different, more complex, and very rich tea.

Wild Pu-erh tea trees over hundreds and even thousands of years old still remain and produce the most prized and collected Pu-erh tea in China.

Our tea is sourced directly from villages within these famous mountain regions.
